HI, I'M ARAZ!

I started my journey in the hair industry when I was 15 and was licensed at 17!

I assisted for a short while and went straight into a booth rental salon for 8 years before moving to my own suite.

I was so excited to have my own space...until I realized how dependent I was on my coworkers to help me formulate.

It was just me, myself and I in my little suite and I had no one to help me!

It was in that moment that I realized...I was 10 years in and I didn't trust myself enough to formulate outside of my comfort zone.

I realized that I was just resorting to the same formulas over and over again and couldn't figure out why they worked on some people and not others.

Many many many mistakes were made in that first suite.

So many prayers went up to the Color Gods.

SO many lessons learned over the years.

I set out on a mission to fully understand hair, hair color, formulation..I wanted to be a master at my craft.

I spent countless hours swatching, testing, reading and studying.

I have learned so much over my 20 years I this industry, I only wish I had this knowledge early in my career.

I have been so fortunate to have been involved in so many facets of this industry over the years. From set work to runway, I have been exposed to so much but my absolute favorite role in this industry is teaching.

I have worked with various manufacturers over the last 15 years, and to me, there is nothing better than being able to facilitate learning in hairdressers across the world.

One of my favorite quotes is from the late Maya Angelou, "When you learn, teach".

And so, COMBED education was created.

I founded COMBED education in 2011 and in 2017 I revamped and relaunched my signature workshop - The Fundamentals.

In 2022...The FUNdamentals course-shop doors will be open! This is for colorists who:

- Are ready to ditch "panic formulating"

- Are done crossing their fingers and praying to the color gods

- Want to formulate confidently

- Don't want to rely on others' help in hair color correction

- Have a vested interest in learning the "why-to" behind formulating

- Are ultimately ready to level-up!
